 Trip summary |

Day 1: Hanoi - ThaiNguyen - BacCan. ~80km (B,L,D)
In the moing we drive out of the capital on our support vehicle and head northeast to Thai Nguyen. Here we start our bike ride to BacCan. Our first day is rather easy with a few rides up and down hill, spectacular scenery, and many beautiful villages of Tay and Nung along the way. O/N Bac Can townlet.
Day 2: BacCan - BaBe National Park ~78km (B,L,D)
Moing ride 20 km outside BacCan and up hill, tu off highway 3 to a quiet road, great view small village of Tay and Thai on the opposite of the river. Later afteoon we take our boat cruise on Ba Be lakes and walk around PacNgoi village. O/N BaBe national park.
Day 3: BaBe - BacMe ~ 80km (B,L,D)
Moing boat cruise with our bike to waterfalls, then we start a cycling adventure on a small trail to Bac Me. (no jeep support). O/N BacMe.
Day 4: BacMe - HaGiang ~ 63km (B,L,D)
Good paved road along Gam river. O/N HaGiang
Day 5: HaGiang - Heaven gate pass - HoangSuPhi ~106km (B,L,D)
Easy ride 45km down highway 2 to TanQuang where we tu left and up hill to the mountain again. Best mountain
view today, chalenge climb through the Heaven gate pass to HoangSuPhi town. O/N HoangSuPhi.
Day 6: HoangSuPhi - XinMan - BacHa ~70km (B,L,D)
Some part of the road is bad, but great view along Chay river. This is totally a new road - built on the former trail of the flower Hmong tribes. O/N BacHa.
Day 7: Sunday Market ~ 20km (B,L,D)
A relaxing day promenade around BacHa Sunday market, see a market day for all tribes: Tay, Nung, Dao, Flower H'mong, Giay, Phu La... Afternoon we ride bike around H'mong village. O/N BacHa. Cycling around BacHa - LaoCai
Day 8: BacHa - LaoCai - Night train to Hanoi ~ 60km (B,L)
Ride down the mountain pass to BaoNhai and onto LaoCai. Late afteoon leisure time at the Chinese border gate to China. Night train to Hanoi.
End of tour.
