| Pick up from your hotel, we start to visit Koh Ker temple, a trip to Koh Ker brings you deep into the Cambodian countryside and way back in time. Head northeast from the west of Kulen National Park; from there it’s 85 km to the small village of Seong, passing through some remote villages and a beautiful forest populated by deer. Also know as Chok Gargyar, this single pyramid temple dates from the late 9th to mid 12th centuries. Established between 918 and 921AD, it was built by Jayavarman IV who had feuded with family and as a result, constructed this unusual temple and moved the capital to here from 921 to 945AD. It was a short-lived pre-angkorian capital. This monument consists of five brick towers in a row - a very unusual style. In 2000, the Ministry of Tourism covered it in scrub and trees but recent efforts and local people have allowed its true beauty to be seen. We have Picnic lunch on the site. Continue to visit Beng Mealea temple for visit before continue to Siem Reap, the little explored temple of Beng Mealea (XIth c) is waiting to be rediscovered by the adventurous travellers. The sprawling jungle temple covering over one square kilometer is largely overrun by vegetation. Constructed in a distinctly Angkor Wat style, Beng Melea preceded and may have served as a prototype of sorts for Angkor Wat. Arrive in Siem Reap. Visiting and Shopping at Old Market. End of your tours at hotel. |
